Counseling · Anchor

# Therapy for the people who hold the line — and the cost of holding it.

What I treat

## The work I'm built for.

### Addiction & substance use

Alcohol, prescription medications, and other substances — including patterns that started as coping.

### PTSD & acute trauma

Single-incident and shift-stacked trauma from work in high-stakes environments.

### Complex trauma

The cumulative weight of repeated exposure, moral injury, and loss carried over a career.

### First responder & healthcare focus

Care designed for people who can't afford to be misunderstood by their therapist.

Methods

## EMDR · ART · solution-focused .

I match the method to the moment. Some weeks we reprocess. Some weeks we plan. Some weeks we just slow down enough to feel the ground.

- Free 15-minute consult before any commitment.
- Honest intake — your goals, your timeline, your terms.
- Weekly or biweekly sessions, 50 minutes.
- Real measurement: sleep, urges, relationships, work.

### Where we meet

Telehealth

FAQ

## The questions people ask .

What does a first session look like? +

We talk about what brought you in, the history that matters, and what would make therapy feel worth it. No pressure to share more than you're ready to.

How do EMDR and ART actually work? +

Both use bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps) to help your brain reprocess memories that got stuck in survival mode. ART tends to be faster and image-based; EMDR is the long-standing gold standard for PTSD.

How long until I feel different? +

Many people notice shifts within a few sessions, especially with ART. Lasting change takes longer and depends on what you're working through. We'll review progress together.

Do you require sobriety to start? +

No. We meet you where you are. Active use is part of the conversation, not a disqualifier.

What about confidentiality? +

Sessions are confidential under HIPAA and Utah law. I'll explain the few legal limits at intake — no surprises.

Telehealth or in-person? +

Both. Telehealth across Utah, in-person at the Midvale office.

Therapy outcomes vary. Methods discussed here are evidence-supported but no clinical approach guarantees specific results.
